September 2017 Chad
Chad, a landlocked country located in Central Africa, is one of the driest countries in the world, and accessing to water sources here has always been a huge problem for the country’s agriculture-based economy. Despite the constant water crisis, Chad is not lack of water, as it was found that the country actually had an abundant water storage under the ground.
Nevertheless, extracting underground water to the earth surface remains as a great challenge, since the normal pumps are not only expensive, but also unendurable under high temperatures, which in Chad’s summer could even amount to 50 degree Celsius. To solve this problem, we decided to cooperate with an avant-garde pump manufacturer specialized in making compressor-based pumps, which are more economically viable and resistant to high temperatures than normal pumps, thereby allowing a more convenient access to water to the general public.
Having received a number of positive feedbacks from the trial phase, we would like build several more water stations across Chad, especially in the localities that had been plagued by the water crisis for decades. We believe that as we build more and more water stations in Chad, more and more Chadians would gain a stable, secure and affordable access to water sources.
